Utilization of food by-products and food loss

Efforts to achieve a resource recycling society through effective use of by-products and food loss generated during food manufacturing and processing

Some ingredients of compound feeds are by-products, such as soybean meal and wheat bran, which are generated during food production. Compound feed manufacturers are helping to recycle food by utilizing by-products that cannot be used as food, in the feed.
In Japan, a lot of food loss occurs every day, such as food past its expiry date and leftover food, and most of this is still disposed of as waste.
FEED ONE aims to realize an environment-friendly resource recycling society by proactively utilizing food loss as well as food by-products. Such efforts are also important to improve the feed self-sufficiency rate.
